Le _Therizinosaurus_ est un animal trompeur, et cette ambiguité est cultivée par Schleich qui a doté sa figurine de deux attributs habituellement réservés aux carnivores de la collection : des bras et une gueule articulée. Pourtant, on estime toujours que c'était essentiellement un herbivore, et ce malgré la présence d'un bec denté qui devait lui servir, occasionnellement, à consommer de petits lézards et d'autres créatures de taille similaire. Toujours est-il que cette figurine mérite ces attributs spécifiques puisqu'ils mettent en valeur ses deux caractéristiques les plus intéressantes : les gigantesques griffes des pattes antérieures, et sa gueule hybride.

Cette figurine est la plus petite et la plus légère en ma possession à l'heure actuelle. Variante "juvénile" du [_Giganotosaurus_ Schleich](/collections/schleich/dinosaurs/15010/), cette figurine partage la peinture de son aînée. Bien qu'étant magnifique, un peu de subtilité aurait été appréciée : après tout, même le [_T. rex_ juvénile](/collections/schleich/dinosaurs/15007/) avait eu droit à sa propre robe, malgré une famille déjà bien grande. Ce jeune _Giganotosaurus_ est un peu plus grand que le jeune _T. rex_.

Voilà un animal préhistorique dont on entend assez peu parler et qui justifie d'autant sa présence dans ma collection ! _Postosuchus_ n'est toutefois pas un dinosaure mais un reptile qui leur est antérieur : il vécut à la fin du Trias, "juste" avant l'extinction précédant le Jurassique, à peu près au moment où la Pangée s'est divisée. Un choix intéressant de la part de Schleich qui, habituellement, vise plutôt des créatures plus connues du grand public. C'est réjouissant parce que si la Vie sur Terre a connu plusieurs extinctions majeures, c'est qu'elle existait et était riche, avant mais aussi _après_ ces extinctions. Une [remise en perspective](/interets/philosophie/2023/05/18/lhumain-cette-espece-primitive-lhumain-cette-espece-primitive/) comme je les aime, en quelque sorte...

Comme le [_Giganotosaurus_](/collections/schleich/dinosaurs/15010/) en son temps, ce _Ceratosaurus_ ne figurait pas parmi mes priorités d'achat. En cause, les photos du site officiel qui ne me donnaient guère envie. Mais ma collection ne saurait être complète sans lui.
